Foreign marriage in Egypt – its conditions – and the required documents.
First, the basic conditions
It is that each of the spouses has reached the age of 18 years in order to be entitled to marriage. If the wife is divorced or widowed, then she must have been married for a period of time, according to their custom.
Second: The required documents
1- A certificate of non-objection from the foreign party’s embassy (and it is permissible to bring it from his country and translation and documentation from the Egyptian embassy in his country and documented from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and this certificate indicates that this party’s government does not object to this marriage and states the marital status (or divorce contract or Death).
2- His testimony about the proof of religion (where a Muslim is not permitted to marry atheists – that is, she must be the people of the Book) in the event that the wife is a foreigner and the husband is a Muslim.
– In the event that the husband is a foreigner and the wife is Muslim, a certificate of Islam must be declared.
3- A stamp residing in the Passport.
4- Number of 5 personal photos for each of the spouses.
5- Two copies of all papers and personal identification.
6- Two witnesses.
